China National Day - Snapshots of Chinese Websites

On October 1 2009, China celebrated the 60th anniversary of the founding of its government. In observance of the event, thousands of websites, particularly state-owned media, dressed up for an overwhelming showing of design and content solidarity that was planned for months.

Infochimps.org took snapshots of over 250 major Chinese media websites throughout the week of the holiday. This page is a gallery of some of the sites we took snapshots of. Clicking on a site's "snapshot" link (the camera) will display how the site was viewed on the evening of October 1. The "current" link (fast-forward button) will show the site as it is today.
